EduCongo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhance and improve the quality of lives for children of the Democratic Republic of Congo through education
The people of the Democratic Republic of Congo face overwhelming challenges. Conflict and humanitarian crisis in the Congo have taken the lives of 5.4 million people since 1998 and continue to leave as many as 45,000 every month according to a new mortality survey released by the International Rescue Committee. The wellbeing and livelihood of children throughout the country has gravely worsened as a result of this crisis. Today, according to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), over 5.2 million Congolese children of school age, including 400,000 internally displaced children, receive no education, and for those children that do attend school, the quality of education is very poor due to the instability and extreme poverty.
At EduCongo, we believe every child deserves a quality education in hopes of reaching and achieving his or her full potential. Our motto, “planting seeds of hope for all children”, speaks to our commitment to improve their lives with education as a catalyst.
